Trigger Cut Game Reviews

Double A games that feel ripped straight from the 360/PS3 era of games have almost become a  subgenre at this point.  I am all for this return to the simple and straightforward action games that I grew up playing as a teenager.  In Evil West, you are a gunslinger that kills vampires.  That’s it but that is all this game needs.  The story reminded me of the dude bro cheesiness of the early Gears of War games.  It is over the top but entertaining.  The story isn’t the focus though, the combat is and what is on offer is fun, flashy, and fast. If you like the reboot God of War games, you will enjoy this game since it has the same behind the shoulder 3rd person melee action that those games had.  Evil West won’t change your life and you will probably forget you even played it but that doesn’t mean it can’t give you an enjoyable weekend of gaming. Just don’t pay full price for it.
