Viewfinder is an indie puzzle game with a unique and sometimes mind bending central mechanic. The gameplay consists of using a camera to take pictures of the environment. You then use the pictures you have taken to manipulate the environment and solve puzzles. The game is short however, it continually changes up the formula so the gameplay never gets stale. Surprisingly, there is a story here however, it isn’t anything worth talking about other than the cute cat companion that talks to you throughout the entire playthrough. The campaign is split into different worlds where they introduce a new spin on the central mechanic. The developers do a great job with slowly teaching you how to solve puzzles and I never felt completely stumped at any point in the game. I have played some puzzle games where I felt that the game was not properly communicating to me what I had to do or what knowledge I needed to solve puzzles. I never felt this way while playing Viewfinder. There is a gradual increase in difficulty throughout however, the developers know how to design a puzzle game where they give you all the tools to succeed. This leads to a cozy and fun puzzle game that can be challenging at times but never feels unfair.
