I did not play the original game so I can only comment on this remake.  Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a puzzle platformer that shows its age however, it remains fun for bite sized play sessions.  You can tell this game was originally made for a handheld since the gameplay is simple and not meant for long play sessions.  The gameplay consists of going through short stages and finding ways to obtain keys to progress to the next level.  I enjoyed how they added platforming into a puzzle game and Mario’s signature moves are all here.  The game is light on content and you can easily breeze through all the levels in about 5 to 6 hours.  The game does provide post-game levels that increase the challenge however, it still does not add much to the playtime.  At full price I do not recommend this game given how short it is.  If you are a fan of puzzle platformers, you will find things to enjoy here however, I just wish there was more to it.
