Guilty Gear: Strive

Arc System Works knows how to make a fighting game.  All of their games have amazing art styles, in depth, yet accessible combat systems and this entry in the Guilty Gear franchise is no different.  If you are looking for single player modes, I recommend you play either Street Fighter 6 or any of the recent Mortal Kombat games because there is nothing here for you.  There isn’t even an arcade mode.  The story is literally a movie with no gameplay.  This is an odd choice but if you are interested in the story, there is a movie here for you to watch I guess.  This did not affect me since all I cared about was playing online or with a buddy on the couch.  The online modes function well and the community is small but friendly. The game does feature a helpful tutorial system however, it isn’t as in depth as SF6. Every fighting game should have some amount of accessibility as well as a high skill ceiling.  Strive succeeds at this and any fighting game fan should at least give this game a shot.
