Princess Peach: Showtime!

Princess Peach showtime is the game equivalent of a show like Paw Patrol where, your kids will like it (if you have them) but there is nothing there to entertain you as an adult.  As a person in their mid 30’s, I am probably not the best person to review this game as I am clearly not the target audience for this game.  The gameplay is extremely simple and has absolutely no challenge to it.  Princess Peach is attempting to put on some sort of broadway play before bad guys invade and crash the party.  Her goal is to kick these bad guys out by playing through levels, each with their own costume.  Each costume has a different gameplay mechanic attached to it however, you cannot swap these costumes on the fly mid level, they are simply restricted to their own levels.  Costumes include swordfighter peach, cowboy peach, sherlock holmes peach and so on.  Other than the sherlock holmes costume which forces you to look for clues around an environment, most of the other costumes are spins on a platforming level.  You collect stars however, the game does not have a checkpoint system, so if you miss one, you have to start the level over.  In the end collecting stars does not matter since they only unlock cosmetics. Most Nintendo platformers have bonus worlds that you unlock through collectibles.  This is entirely absent from Showtime and is a huge disappointment. You can easily beat this game in five hours and you will probably forget all about it a week after.  This is a rare miss for Nintendo and unless you have a kid that is interested in playing it, this is a nintendon’t buy.
