Do you like A24 movies? If your answer is yes, this is the game for you. Indika is an odd melting pot of different genres that makes it difficult to describe. This is a game that is best played not knowing anything about it, so I will keep this review short. Indika is a nun that begins hearing voices from what seems like the devil or a demon of sorts. She is called to help with an accident where several people are injured. She meets a man that is on the run from the police for murder. Indika decides to help him and what precedes is a strange, trippy, morality tale that has no qualms screwing with your head. The game is always surprising and directly plays with the idea that you are in fact playing a game. The game swaps art styles and mechanics almost constantly. To reiterate this is a narrative based game so do not expect any real gameplay depth, it consists of walking to different story beats and solving simplistic puzzles. If you are into experimental, interactive , narrative driven experiences, this is the game for you. I wouldn’t dare spoil anything more for you. I’d recommend playing it before the inevitable A24 film adaption comes out and spoils it for you.
